- Hiring Salary Range: $50,148.80 – 52,644.80 (Estimated Starting Salary As Of July 1st)
Minimum requirements: Minimum Education – High School Diploma or GED
Minimum Qualification – US Citizen over 21; have a valid driver’s license with the ability to obtain a South Carolina one upon acceptance of the position is required; have no criminal convictions. Must pass three week certification class at the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy.
Description: The Patrol Division is a unique division as it holds most of the personnel within the police department. Because of this, it is often referred to as the “backbone” of the department. The Patrol Division is made up of five separate units to include Uniform Patrol, the Waterfront Unit, the Traffic Unit, the Beach Patrol Unit and the Family Services Unit.
Officers will generally patrol in clearly marked vehicles, patrol assigned jurisdictional areas, respond to calls for assistance, act as a deterrent to crime, enforce state and local laws and respond to emergencies 24 hours per day seven days per week.
