Pendleton Police Department Re-Opens
(Pendleton, S.C.) – 10/23/2016 – Under the leadership of Chief Burdette, the Pendleton Police Department has officially re-opened its doors. Pendleton which is located in the northern end of Anderson County near Clemson boasts a population of over 3000 individuals. Until recently, the towns law enforcement services were contracted out to the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office. After several years, town council determined that it would be best to bring its law enforcement in-house and re-open the Pendleton Police Department. This move comes as a way to improve call response times while reducing costs to local tax payers.
Prior to its official grand opening in August, the Pendleton Police Department underwent a major overhaul to ensure officers were properly equipped to patrol the town. This included the purchase of a mixed fleet of brand-new Ford Utility and Ford Interceptor patrol vehicles. The equipment upfit and graphic design for the new cruisers was installed by Light-N-Up in Roebuck, South Carolina. A full CODE3 lighting package was selected to accompany a bold graphics package prominently displaying the agency’s new badge and patch. Full chevrons were also included to the rear of the vehicles for added visibility while responding to calls.
