Camden Police Department Wins SCLEN DUI Challenge Vehicle
(CAMDEN, S.C.) – 9/28/2016 – The Camden Police Department was recently awarded a brand new 2016 Ford Utility “Target Zero” unit through the South Carolina Law Enforcement Network’s DUI Challenge. This fully equipped police cruiser is the second “Target Zero” grant unit the agency has won through SCLEN and will be assigned to the department’s traffic unit.
Through the “Target Zero” grant, officers operating this vehicle must adhere to specific guidelines from the S.C. Department of Public Safety aimed to help reduce traffic fatalities on our roadways. Since hitting the streets of Camden, officers assigned these “Target Zero” units have already made an impact through enhanced patrols resulting in several D.U.I related arrests and citations issued for traffic related offenses in the community.
