SCP Visits the Beaver State

Oregon State Police Campaign Hat

(Salem, OR) – Since 1931, the Oregon State Police (OSP) has been proudly protecting the citizens of the Beaver State. While vacationing through Oregon, members of SCPoliceCruisers had the opportunity to meet with Troopers to showcase a portion of the fleet assigned to Northern Command. In its 90+ year history, the agency has operated several graphic packages, and we had the privilege of photographing its 2 latest designs.

Though the Oregon State Police operates a mix of cruisers, Dodge continues to make up the backbone of its fleet. Existing Dodge Chargers are slowly being phased out in favor of the Dodge Durango, while the Fish and Wildlife Division and other specialized units rely on the Chevrolet Tahoe and a variety of pick-up trucks. That’s right! I said Fish and Wildlife Division. While Game Wardens in South Carolina operate outside of the S.C. Department of Public Safety, Oregon and Alaska are the only two states that have Troopers assigned to perform those responsibilities. This provides the agency with additional flexibility in patrolling remote portions of Oregon.

We’d like to extend a very big THANK YOU to the Oregon State Police for granting us full access to its fleet. Visit the newly launched Oregon portion of the website to view these images and more!
